After living with Gandhi in India, Lanza del Vasto established the communities of the Ark based on the principles of nonviolence. Though evolving over time, the communities are guided in principle by simplicity and manual work, by sustainability and spiritual practice as a way to create peace in ourselves, our communities and in the wider world.
